“As a composer, I am inspired by the delicate emotions conveyed through film, theater, and nature. I capture its essence and create an accompanying sonic landscape. This emotion is the source of every composition of mine. As a Korean Chinese living in the United States, the diversity of my identity and different experiences makes it difficult for me to feel a true sense of belonging to any one place it has given me an ineffable sense of freedom and inclusiveness of different cultures. My goal is to infuse my music with this freedom not to be limited, and the different musical elements I receive whether traditional, modern, or experimental. ”
